E-Therapy's Tech Adaptation to Scale

Learn how E-Therapy's partnership with TechUp Labs helped them build a platform for end-to-end key functions.

How a Teletherapy provider adapted to Tech to scale
Founded: 2009
Headquartered: Flagstaff, Arizona
Founders: Diana Parafiniuk, Mindy Degraff
Industry: Electronic Teletherapy Provider

Introduction

E-Therapy's journey started in 2009 with a vision to address learning difficulties in children. These difficulties arose from two primary issues:

  • Not able to identify it.
  • No quick access to therapists for resolution.

To address this, E-Therapy provides therapeutic support for children under 12th grade, and that's done with their individualized education program (IEP). The program provides individual and combined offerings related to therapy, mental health, and professional development. The intention and end goal is to help children in their learning and overall growth.

For easy accessibility, their offerings were made available on-site, remote, and hybrid. Fast forward to 2024:

  1. They've conducted 1.17 million sessions.
  2. They've impacted the lives of 32,000 children.
  3. 843 schools are part of their program.

Challenges and Needs

E-Therapy's vision required strong Tech to impact the lives of children across the U.S. They wanted to build a platform in which they could handle end-to-end business functions. A platform that can be:

  • Used to onboard schools with requirements.
  • Used to search, quantify, and onboard therapists.
  • Used by the E-Therapy team to schedule classes and notify the children and therapist about the same.
  • Used by children to attend their classes.
  • Used by the therapist to take classes for children.

Solution

The E-Therapy team researched to find a partner who could best suit their needs. When they came across TechUp Labs, they understood the value at hand based on our track record. The collaboration happened quickly after we found common ground on what to be built and "Why". A platform was built that allowed the E-Therapy team to:

  • Onboard schools based on their requirements.
  • Onboard therapists based on the demand from onboarded schools.
  • Connect the dots, that's between the available therapist and children from the onboarded school, and schedule their classes.
  • Have children log in and attend classes.
  • Have therapists log in and conduct classes.

Implementation and Impact

The online platform was named STAR. With its implementation, E-Therapy was able to streamline its processes in real time, and this increased the efficiency of everyone involved. Speaking of real-time impact:

  • The sales team was able to connect and onboard schools with their requirements.
  • The HR team was able to search, quantify, and onboard quality therapists to address school requirements.
  • The key account manager took care of the demand-supply between onboarded schools and available therapists.
  • The therapists and the children's parents discuss finalizing the timing of a class, after which the therapist schedules the class over the dashboard.
  • The therapist can add notes related to a children's class. These notes included details on improvements, challenges, and general comments.
  • The children were given a simple dashboard, which contained nothing but an option to join a class when logged in, and two reminders were sent to the children, one was before 2 days and the other was before 3 hours.

Conclusion

The collaboration with TechUp Labs made E-Therapy seamlessly run the key business functions on an online platform named STAR. This provided them with the superpower to scale with no physical limits.

The vision of E-Therapy is a long game, and the same goes for our collaboration. So far, they have allowed us to assist them not only with this platform but also collaborate to build eQUIP (connect to case study), which solves another key purpose in their journey.

We are proud to have had this opportunity to contribute to something that helps children's development and look forward to supporting them in reaching their vision.
